My pets are my children. I refer to them as my furbabies. I had a twelve year old Australian Shepherd that was in perfect health other than slowing down a little. She didn’t have the rambunctiousness typical of Aussies anymore. Her name is Zoe. I took her to the vet regularly, gave her all the preventative medications and fed her good food and no people food. She was regularly exercised and played with. I was taking her on a typical walk and she was not wanting to be out there. This was very unusual behavior. An Aussie loves to exercise and be with their shepherd. I started wondering if anything was wrong and should I call to see if the vet could see her. This was a Saturday. I decided I’d just make a point to get her checked out next week. Otherwise, she had been acting fine.
